Anannya Magazine
Editorial Policy
Standards for fair, accurate, independent, and responsible publishing.
Anannya Magazine publishes journalism and features on women, lifestyle, health, culture, literature, entertainment, and public interest topics for readers in Bangladesh and Bengali-speaking communities.
Accuracy
We aim to verify facts before publication. Editors review names, dates, locations, figures, quotes, images, and source material where relevant. When information is developing, we make that clear and update stories as new verified information becomes available.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made by the Anannya editorial team. We do not allow advertisers, sponsors, or outside parties to control news judgment, headlines, reporting, or reviews. Sponsored or partner content must be clearly identified.
Sources and Attribution
We attribute information to named sources whenever possible. For sensitive topics, we may withhold a source's identity when disclosure could create risk, but editors must know the source and the reason for confidentiality.
Bylines
Articles should carry a clear author name, desk credit, or source credit. Bylines identify responsibility for reporting, writing, or editing.
Images and Media
Images, illustrations, and media should be used with appropriate rights, credit, and context. We avoid misleading edits or captions that change the meaning of an image.
Sensitive Coverage
We handle topics involving children, gender-based violence, health, grief, discrimination, and personal safety with extra care. We avoid unnecessary personal details and language that could create harm.
Conflicts of Interest
Editors and contributors should disclose personal, financial, or professional interests that could affect coverage. Editors may reassign or review work when a conflict exists.
Corrections
When we find a significant error, we correct it promptly and, when appropriate, add a note explaining the change. Readers can report possible errors through our corrections process.
